The senior Championship gets under way on Sunday September 1st in Ballymote at 1:00pm when the team face Coolera. Your support would be appreciated

The minor team had a good win over Ballymote in the replay of the 1st round of the Championship played in Tourlestrane on Monday last. The second round is scheduled for Monday September 2nd versus Drumcliffe.

The very best of luck is wished to the Sligo Under 16 hurling team who will contest the All  Ireland “C” Final versus Monaghan in Enniskillen on Saturday August 31st  at 3:30pm. Tourlestrane are ably represented by Stephen Timlin and Brian Kennedy who have played major roles in the teams success to date.

The under 16 girls are  awaiting  the date of their Championship final originally scheduled for this week.

Congratulations to Kathleen and Leo Gaughan, Killure on the birth of their daughter and Annette and John Lang Aclare, on the birth of  their son recently.

Congratulations to Senior player Eamonn O’Hara on his Vodafone GAA Player of the Month Award presented to him in the Sligo Park Hotel by GAA President Sean McHague. The function was attended by friends family, and GAA representatives from all levels.

Congratulations to Fergus Lundy, Niall Egan, and Aaron Murtagh who qualified for semi final places at the Community games held in Mosney last weekend.

Congratulations to the students of the parish who received their Leaving Cert results recently.

A speedy recovery is wished to Mrs. Ann O’Hara, Cloongoonagh who is recovering from injury at present.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Egan family, Cloonbarry, the Brennan family, Rhue, and the Lundy family, Tourlestrane, on their recent bereavements.
